3º ESO Unit 8 Make od Do

Basic difference between DO and MAKE

  • Use DO for actions, obligations, and repetitive tasks.
  • Use MAKE for creating or producing something, and for actions you choose to do.
  • DO generally refers to the action itself, and MAKE usually refers to the result. For example, if you “make breakfast,” the result is an omelet! If you “make a suggestion,” you have created a recommendation.

3º ESO Unit 8 Grammar

El Second Conditional se usa para expresar condiciones hipotéticas referidas al presente, algo que es poco probable que ocurra.

Un ejemplo en castellano sería “Si tuviera un coche, iría a la playa”.

La estructura del segundo condicional:

if + pasado simple + condicional simple (o los verbos modales could y might).

Un ejemplo: If I had a car, I would go to the beach (Si tuviera un coche, iría a la playa).

3º ESO Unit 7 Vocabulary

3º ESO Unit 7 Grammar

There are different ways to speak about the future according to the speaker's certainty.
  1. Will and won't are used when we are sure about a future action or event.
  2. May and Might are used when we feel less sure but think the action or event is possible. It might rain this afternoon.
  3. We normally use will to ask questions about the future.
  4. Questions with may or might are unusual, apart from when making requests as in May I go to the toilet?

Gap-fill exercise:  will, may, might or won't

The Future Continuous is used to talk about actions in progress at a point in time the future, as in I will be lying on the beach next Saturday.

Irregular Verbs Learning Games

Level: intermediate
Procedure:
This a competition to be played in pairs: student A and B
Whole class: As decide on a letter to challenge Bs.
Bs will have one minute to write as many irregular verbs (infinitive-past-past participle) beginning with the selected letter as they can think of.

Irregular verbs will be awarded 1 or 2 points depending on the difficulty of their spelling or on their frequency at an intermediate level.
Set a timer for the allotted time and when time is up, display the answers by clicking on the interactive letter.
Student B gets 1 point or 2 points (depending on the verb) only if he has correctly spelt the verb in the past and past participle.
Now, it ‘s Student B’s turn

NOTE: What do As or Bs do while it’s the other student’s turn to compete? They can also do the challenge, but no points will be awarded!

Note: This is an interactive tool. Click on the letters. Click on the arrows to enlarge the game.
